The first opportunity for the public to speak in front of the Wisconsin legislature’s bipartisan Water Quality Task Force is set for Wednesday, May 8. The task force, created by Speaker of the Assembly Robin Vos (R-Rochester) in the wake of reports of highly contaminated residential drinking water wells in southwest Wisconsin, will hold its first hearing in Lancaster. Several invited guests will testify first with an opportunity for public comment to follow. The hearing will begin at 10:30 am in the Youth & Ag Building Auditorium, 916 E Elm St in Lancaster.
Additional hearings across Wisconsin will be held over the course of the summer. Watch wisconsinlakes.org for more information about the task force, upcoming hearings, and how to get involved!
