Surface Water Grant Deadline Approaches!
Application deadline for WDNR Surface Water Grants is November 15, 2022!
For those organizations that filed their pre-applications for 2023 surface water grants from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, the department wants to remind you that the deadline to file your formal application is barely a week away!

The final grant application deadline is approaching for eligible grantees who submitted a pre-application to the DNR Surface Water Grant Program. Applicants have until the end of the Nov. 15 to submit their final application by emailing it to
Exception: Pre-applications were not required for returning Healthy Lakes & Rivers, Clean Boat Clean Waters or Lake Monitoring and Protection Network applicants. If your organization has received one of these three types of grants in the past, you may also submit a final application by Nov. 15.
Eligible organizations that haven’t begun the application process yet should look to next year’s grant cycle. More information is available by visiting the department’s Surface Water Grant website.
How To Submit An Application:
All emailed grant applications must be sent by 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 15. If an application is received after the deadline, the application will not be considered for funding.
The preferred method of application submittal is via email to In the subject line of the e-mail, enter the type of grant you are applying for, the county where the project is located and the applicant’s name (e.g., Surface Water Planning, Oneida Co., Eagle River Lake Association).
You will receive a confirmation email when your application has been processed. We will do our best to reach out to you as soon as we process your application, but we will be working through a high volume of applications. You can expect a follow-up confirmation in the week or two following the application deadline. We thank you in advance for your patience.
Sign your application electronically by typing your name in the signature line. The authorized representative must also be the person to submit the application via email to validate the signature.
